Terrible Lizards on Steam Deck
Terrible Lizards is Playable on Steam Deck. That is Valve's word, and it is a lower badge than Verified. Playable here means the default control layout works, the on-screen prompts use Deck button icons, and the default settings are described as performing well. It also means two limits: on-screen text may be hard to read, and you cannot hand the primary player role to an external controller.
Proton, because there is no native Linux build
The Steam page is a Windows game. There is no macOS depot and no Linux depot in that listing. Deck runs the Windows build under Proton. I am not recommending a specific Proton GE build. The compatibility report is about the default Steam setup, and that is the setup I will stand behind.
The PC bar the report sits next to
| Tier | CPU | RAM | GPU | OS | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i5-6400 / Ryzen 3 1200 | 6 GB | GTX 1050 2 GB / RX 560 2 GB | Windows 10 | 25 GB |
| Recommended | Intel Core i3-10100F / Ryzen 3 3100 | 12 GB | RTX 2080 / RX 6800 XT | Windows 11 | 25 GB |
A review mentioned hitching on a desktop the writer called a Steam Machine. That sentence is about a desktop, not a Deck handheld session, so it does not become a Deck frame-time claim on this page. The system-requirements page keeps the same two tiers for people choosing a PC.
If you need larger text, the Deck itself can scale the interface, and the demo's hint-paint guidance toggle is a separate feature described on the beginner page. I do not have a confirmed in-game UI scale percentage, so that cell stays empty.

Questions
Is Terrible Lizards Steam Deck Verified?
No. The Deck compatibility report says Playable. Default controller config works and the game shows Deck glyphs. Text may be hard to read. An external controller is not supported as the primary player.
Does it have a Linux build?
Steam lists Windows only. On Deck the game runs through Proton. macOS is not listed either.
What frame rate should I expect?
Valve did not publish one, and I am not filling the gap with a guess. The report says the default configuration performs well, and it warns about small text.
