Privacy policy
This policy covers terriblelizards.xyz. The operator is the publisher of this guide. Email [email protected]. It was last aligned with the site on 2 Nov 2026. If a script changes, this page changes in the same update.
What loads, and when
This site uses the default-on model: a visitor with no stored choice is treated as granted, so Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra start on the first page view, before any button is pressed. The cookie banner is a notice with two buttons, not a gate. Press Reject and the ad, heatmap and analytics loaders stop; the choice is stored for 180 days. Accept keeps everything on. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is treated as Reject without waiting for a click. Reject reloads this page to stop already executing vendor scripts, then blocks all three loaders on later visits; it cannot undo requests already sent. The YouTube poster is different: the player waits for your click.
| Service | Why it runs | When it starts | Storage and retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (G-XDK7FVP2HD) | Page and event measurement: which guides are read and how visitors arrive. | First page view, unless Reject is stored. | Requests to googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com. Cookies _ga and _ga_XDK7FVP2HD may last up to 2 years. Event retention depends on the property configuration; this page does not claim a verified property retention setting. |
| Microsoft Clarity (project z77fjjyr7s) | Heatmaps and session replay: clicks, scroll depth, and a masked recording of the visit. | First page view, unless Reject is stored. | Requests to clarity.ms and its subdomains, including scripts.clarity.ms and regional collection hosts. Cookies _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day) support visitor and session grouping. Clarity may also use Microsoft advertising cookies; see the Clarity cookie list in Sources. Recording retention and masking follow the project settings and Microsoft policy. |
| Adsterra (publisher 3403020) | Advertising: NativeBanner_1 unit 32047939 and SocialBar_1 unit 32047940. Adult ads are off. | First page view, unless Reject is stored or the Social Bar was hidden. | Adsterra sets its own cookies and localStorage on bicea.org and the ad domains it uses, for frequency capping, fraud checks and attribution; those names are set by Adsterra, not by this site. Adsterra controls its own retention. This site stores tl_socialbar_closed when you hide the bar. |
| YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) | Trailer player on articles that carry a video. | Only after you press a video poster. No YouTube, thumbnail or video requests before that click. | The player contacts youtube-nocookie.com and may contact youtube.com, googlevideo.com, ytimg.com and gstatic.com. Google handles player storage and viewing data under its privacy policy. No external poster is fetched before you click. |
Storage on this device
- tl_consent (localStorage): JSON with choice set to accept or reject and exp set to a millisecond timestamp. Retention 180 days, then the record is ignored and the default-on path runs again. The banner and all three loaders read it; it is how Reject survives a reload.
- tl_socialbar_closed (localStorage): the string 1, written when you press Hide ad bar. It has no expiry, so the Adsterra Social Bar stays closed on later visits until you clear this site data. The Native Banner is unaffected.
- Vendor cookies: _ga and _ga_XDK7FVP2HD for Google Analytics 4; _clck and _clsk for Microsoft Clarity; Adsterra cookies on its ad domains. The table above gives purpose and retention for each.
Legal basis
Optional analytics, advertising and replay start under the default-on choice described above; the site does not claim prior opt-in consent. A stored Reject choice is used only to honor your preference. Serving the static guide pages, keeping the site secure and measuring aggregate traffic without profiling are our legitimate interest in publishing. The site does not sell information directly; advertising partners may process identifiers for advertising purposes as described in their policies. You can opt out of those loaders with Reject.
Your choices and opt-outs
Use Reject in the banner, or the Cookie settings button in the footer, to change your mind at any time. Reject turns off GA4 measurement, Clarity replay and both Adsterra units, and stores the choice for 180 days. Clearing site data in your browser removes tl_consent and tl_socialbar_closed. For personalized advertising, use Google Ad Settings, Your Online Choices, or the NAI opt-out; these are the exit doors for the ad ecosystem, and they work whether or not this site is in your allow list. To refuse Google Analytics across sites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Microsoft explains Clarity data handling in its privacy statement.
Retention and your rights
The table above gives the retention for each service. The only record this site writes itself is tl_consent (180 days) and tl_socialbar_closed (until you clear it). You can ask for a copy of any email you sent us, ask us to delete that correspondence, or object to how we handle it. Write to [email protected]. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may complain to your local data protection authority. We do not require an account and we do not ask for payment details.
Changes
When a script, a cookie name or a retention period changes, this page gets a new date at the top and the table is updated in the same commit. The site does not silently add a network that is missing from this page.

Questions
Do you run ads?
Yes. Adsterra supplies one Native Banner (unit 32047939) and one Social Bar (unit 32047940). Both load on the first page view unless you press Reject; Reject removes them and is remembered for 180 days. Adult ads are off in the Adsterra panel.
What is stored on this device?
localStorage keys tl_consent (your choice, 180 days) and tl_socialbar_closed (set to 1 when you hide the Social Bar). Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity also set their own cookies, named in the table below.
When does YouTube load?
A local poster is shown first. Press its Play button to load the youtube-nocookie.com iframe; this starts requests to YouTube, Google video delivery and thumbnail services. Reject removes the player.
