Brontosaurus, the roaming pursuit
Bronto is the scale problem. The devlog admits the sauropod was the principal that fought the engine hardest, because a body that large still has to roam instead of playing a canned loop. In the route, that roaming becomes a lane. You are in a hall, a tram cut, or a cave throat, and the animal occupies the straight line. Leaving is the mechanic. Blocking is not available. There is no crate that matters to something this tall.
Two hunts, not one long scream
Chapter 1 spends the first pursuit getting you from the basement lever to the cave mouth. A patch later talks about a second Brontosaurus hunt. Guides put that second pass near the mine and the lake cave, which is why chapter 2 claims it and why the boundary fight with chapter 3 matters. If your second meeting is a cart and goo, you are in the overlap those pages already argue. The animal does not change species because the authors cut the tape in different rooms.
I will not publish a step count or a boulder tally. One guide says boulders. Another just says the animal. The patch says "hunt." The shared instruction is physical: abandon the lane, take the side opening, let the mass pass or let the door shut. Standing under the neck to look brave is not a documented strategy, and I will not invent one.
The lobby fossil is a different object
A Brontosaurus fossil in the attraction hides half of the paper for code 9216. That is a dead mount and a keypad clue. The living pursuit is later and louder. Mixing them up makes the employee door sound like a boss door. It is not. The code page-matter stays in chapter 1.
Name aside: visitors ask whether every dinosaur in the title is a "terrible lizard." Brontosaurus is Greek for thunder lizard. The word dinosaur is the one Richard Owen built from deinos and sauros. I am pointing that out so this chase is not drafted into the etymology argument. The thunder is enough.

Questions
Is Brontosaurus a boss you damage?
No. It is a roaming mass. Guides describe two pursuits. A patch mentions the second hunt. You win by getting off its lane and into the next tunnel.
Why was it hard to build?
The creature devlog says the body size made it the hardest principal to realize, with roaming behavior rather than a single scripted statue.
Does the species name mean terrible lizard?
No. Brontosaurus is thunder lizard. Dinosaur is the terrible-lizard compound. The etymology page keeps that distinction so this page can stay about the chase.
