DALTON'S DINOSGUEST SYSTEM v1.06.92INSERT TAPE

Is Terrible Lizards scary?

Yes, it is filed as horror, and the filing is specific. Terrible Lizards is a first-person game where the danger is a body in a corridor or a lane, and your answer is movement. The store text tells you to run. The Q&A talks about a game without weapons. That combination is tense in a different way from a shooter: you cannot win a trade, you can only leave. Reviews that mention bugs also mention the tension working when the route is clear and stumbling when a trigger misfires. Loot Level Chill is one of those.

What the ratings already decided

ESRB Teen, with violence and blood named, plus PEGI 12, USK 12, and IARC 12, all from the Xbox catalog reading. I am not adding a content warning beyond that list. I did not get a scene inventory. Blood is in the rating. A gore montage is not something I can document from the posts I used. If you need a harder ceiling than Teen, the rating board already answered with 12 and T, not with an adults-only mark.

Mascot horror is the phrase searchers bring. Dennis earns it: a cheerful dilophosaurus from the gift shop who guides put in the last chase. The Hybrid is body horror in the design notes — coral ribs, a skull face, Alien Resurrection among the references — which is a different chill from a plush. The Brontosaurus is scale. Pterry is the open sky. Scariness here is a menu, not a single gag.

Co-op would change the scare, and there is no co-op. You are alone with the headset voice. That fact is on the FAQ page with the other yes-or-no answers. If you want games that feel adjacent, the recommendations page names them one by one instead of calling this "the dinosaur FNAF" and walking away. The design devlog does list FNAF among influences, beside Mirror's Edge and others. Influence is not identity.

Questions

What kind of horror is it?

Chase horror and theme-park dread. You have no gun. The store page and the Q&A describe one-hit failures, darkness, and things you run from. It is not a squad shooter.

What age rating?

The Xbox catalog lists ESRB Teen for violence and blood, PEGI 12, USK 12, and IARC 12. Teen is not "adults only," and it is not a children's listing either.

Is it mascot horror?

Dennis is a mascot who becomes a threat, so the label is partly fair. The other animals are treated as animals, especially the Allosaurus and the Brontosaurus. I would not file the whole game next to a toy-gone-wrong series and stop there.
