How long Terrible Lizards takes

Length is a spread, and I am leaving it spread. The people who made Terrible Lizards said, in the October Q&A, that a run is 6 to 10 hours. They also said a fast player can be under 6 and a slow one around 12. That is already three buckets from one post. I will not collapse them to "about 8."

Published lengths. None of these are a personal clear.

An older planning note on this project said 4 to 6 hours. That was wrong relative to the Q&A, and I am not carrying it forward. The 4 hour 32 minute video is real as a duration of a file. It is not evidence that a first visit, with deaths and reading, lasts 4 hours. Fall deaths alone are an achievement 91 percent of Steam players had on 2 Nov 2026. People are dying. Dying adds minutes the no-death file does not have.

Chapter lengths are even softer. One wiki calls chapter 1 about 1 to 1.5 hours and the most "authored" part. I do not have matching clocks for chapters 2 through 4, so I will not imply the remainder divides evenly. Collectible cleanup is the other missing clock: the full-set achievements were under 1 percent, which means almost nobody's "how long" includes every note.

If you only have the demo, the studio did not print a demo length either. A third-party estimate puts that under an hour, split into a story half and a gameplay half. The demo page keeps that estimate in its own box so it does not leak into the 6–10.

Questions

What did the developers say?

The October 2026 Q&A gives 6 to 10 hours, and says faster clears can be under 6 while slower ones land near 12.

What about a speed-style video?

One no-death full run I could identify is 4 hours, 32 minutes, and 17 seconds. That is a careful continuous route, not the median player.

Does New Game+ add time?

The mode exists after a clear and adds modifiers. The Q&A does not add those hours onto the 6–10 figure. I am not guessing a second runtime.
