Terrible Lizards ending explained

Start with the sentence the developers were willing to publish: there is one main ending. A wiki that otherwise adds a lot of rooms says the same thing in the negative, no secret ending. Then a video title on a long playthrough says there is a true or legendary ending. Titles are marketing for the video, not patch notes. I am recording the conflict because pretending the title does not exist is how a later argument starts.

The image one wiki is willing to describe

Jordan has DJ. They ride the crew lift to the surface. DJ knows Stella's car. Dennis, who chased them, goes over an edge and is not shown as a corpse. That is the whole picture I will retell. I do not have a second writer confirming the car, the ledge, or the missing body. The narrative devlog does confirm the relationships: DJ is Dalton and Elena's son, Stella is the family friend on the phone, Dennis is bound up with the child in the cast notes. The relationships can be true even if a particular shot is only in one guide.

Loot Level Chill, reviewing on 27 Oct 2026, called the ending a little abrupt and still scored the game 8 out of 10. That is a reaction, not a plot point. I am not using "abrupt" as evidence of a cut second ending. It can just be a short last scene.

What I will not claim

• No second button, no morality meter, no "stay or leave" choice in any source I am using.
• No proof that Dennis was once a person. That theory is community-only.
• No proof that finding all notes changes the lift. Collectible achievements and the level-4 achievement are separate rows.

If you want the route that reaches this scene, chapter 4 is deliberately short: Cavern B, a key on Dr. Fellows, the chase. If you want the argument about whether a video found another stinger, re-read the first paragraph. I would rather be stubborn about one ending than inventive about two.
