DALTON'S DINOSGUEST SYSTEM v1.06.92INSERT TAPE

Terrible Lizards beginner guide

Terrible Lizards teaches you with the building. You run, jump, grab a ledge, wall-run, hit a bounce surface, slide, and swing. The game-design devlog names Mirror's Edge, Dying Light, and a cluster of horror games as references, and it stresses air control and checkpoints. There is no gun, no dodge roll, and no dinosaur health bar. A missed jump and a missed sneak are the same kind of failure: you reset to a checkpoint.

The first half hour, as the guides describe it

Leave the car. Use the payphone. Enter the attraction. A paper on the Allosaurus fossil and a paper under the Brontosaurus fossil produce the employee door code 9216. That code, and the later basement code 1903, come from a single walkthrough family. Three sites repeat it almost line for line, so I am not calling it three confirmations.

  • Theater: a fuse from an upper room goes into the box by the video player. The guide describes three timing windows, then a restarted preshow, then a gate into the exhibit hall.
  • Exhibit hall: three switches and a lever. You pick up the phone headset here. Stella is the voice on it later; the story page explains who she is.
  • Dilo Dash: the guide says you cannot touch the floor because it is electrified. Yellow pipes and columns are the path. A token is exchanged for the flashlight.
  • Gift shop and office: a VHS, then the basement keypad 1903, three fuses, three pillar boxes, a lever, and a Brontosaurus chase that ends when you reach the cave.

The demo has an optional guidance toggle

Demo patch 0.9.51 added a guidance toggle that changes route hints and some environment colors. The October developer Q&A explicitly describes this as a demo option and says the team would investigate bringing it to the full game after launch. These sources do not establish that the full game already offers the same toggle.

Chapter 1 is where the rest of this advice becomes a route. The boss page is the wrong first stop: you are not fighting, you are leaving. Collectibles in that opening stretch, per the third-party counts, include four amber, four Paleo Pal talk boxes, and the first plush. Paleo Pal Review is easy to miss because two boxes sit off the main path.

Questions

What are the default keys?

The Steam page does not print a default binding list. Use Settings, then Controls, in the game. I am not publishing a WASD chart I cannot source.

Is there a stamina bar?

The design devlog describes loose air control and generous checkpoints, and it does not describe a stamina meter. Fall damage exists for fatal drops: the achievement "How was the fall?" is earned by dying to a fall.

Do I need a weapon?

No. The store description and the developer Q&A frame every encounter as traversal. Dinosaurs are not killed. Reaching the next door ends the encounter.
